Questo volume si propone di fornire un’analisi rigorosa delle principali sfide e opportunità per la cooperazione e il partenariato digitale tra UE e Africa attraverso due strumenti strategici europei chiave, il Global Gateway dell’UE e il Piano Mattei dell’Italia. Il volume, che colloca il partenariato digitale UE-Africa in un più ampio scenario digitale, plasmato sempre più da rivalità geopolitice e geoeconomiche tra potenze globali, consente un’analisi informata del partenariato UE-Africa nello scacchiere geopolitico globale. L’analisi si concentra su quattro macro-temi: (i) le strutture e le politiche di governance digitale, (ii) il controllo tecnologico e la sovranità dei dati, (iii) le lacune nelle infrastrutture digitali e (iv) opportunità e sfide per il partenariato digitale Italia-UE-Africa nel futuro. Il libro approfondisce inoltre lo stato attuale del panorama digitale globale dal punto di vista sia degli africani che degli europei e contiene raccomandazioni mirate e articolate per rafforzare il partenariato digitale UE-Africa.
