EU: difficulty on decarbonisation

Following the European Parliament elections and a few months into the "Fridays for Future" demonstrations, the debate on the decarbonisation of our economies has reached the top of the European political agenda. In reality, however, the EU has already, since 2005, equipped itself with the largest CO2 market in the world with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions: the EU Emission Trading Scheme. The question today is: is the project really contributing to the decarbonisation of European industries?
