The conference has been organised in collaboration with the TEPSA network and Theseus, and with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Representation of the European Commission in Italy and Centro Studi sul Federalismo (CSF). The event took place in Rome on 24-25 marzo 2014 and was divided in two general sessions and four roundtables on the following issues: economy and youth employment; European defence; neighbourhood policy and iImmigration in the Mediterranean; institutional reforms and the future European leeadership's tasks and roles. A background paper on priorities and proposal for the upcoming EU Italian Presidency has been drafted by the IAI. The conference report provides a list of recommendations about the initiatives that the Italian government can undertake during its presidency term to promote the European integration process.
