Chinese Media in Italy

Collaborations between Chinese and foreign media have been attracting international attention, including Francesca Ghiretti's and Lorenzo Mariani's interest. The researchers in the field of Asian studies at the IAI underline that Chinese media are the voice of the Chinese Communist Party at home and abroad. Moreover, they analyse an issue that has not been yet explored: the inclusion of Rai and Ansa in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Italy in support of the Belt and Road Initiative in 2019.

However, the impact that such an effort has had on the Italian public opinion has been very limited so far, and the Italian media landscape keeps offering free and varied information.
