Africa's Energy Future

North Africa shows an energy landscape characterised by a higher level of access and of infrastructure development than the rest of the continent. Lorenzo Colantoni, Luca Franza and Giulia Sofia Sarno from the Energy, Climate and Resources Programme (ECR) of IAI, alongside experts of the Energy Security Transition (EST) Lab of the Energy Center of the Politecnico di Torino, analyse and estimate the leapfrogging potential for four illustrative countries in sub-Saharan Africa: this region might be able to leapfrog from a situation of low or no availability of energy to a sustainable and universally accessible supply.
