Mediterranean, Climate Change and Sustainability

The Mediterranean, recognised as a climate change “hotspot”, is particularly exposed to the climate emergency. The climate crisis is already worsening pre-existing political, social, economic and environmental fragilities. Rising temperatures, low rainfall and increased pollution, combined with urbanisation and demographic growth, are adding significant stress to state and societal resilience.
