Fabrizio Saccomanni

Biography

Fabrizio Saccomanni was IAI Vice President from 2016 until 2019, Chairman of UniCredit from 2018 to 2019 and Minister of Economy and Finance in the Government headed by Mr. Enrico Letta from 2013 to 2014. He previously held the positions of Member of the Directorate (Governing Board) and Senior Deputy Governor (Director General) of the Bank of Italy (October 2006 - April 2013); President and member of the Governing Board of the Insurance Supervisory Authority (IVASS) (from 1 January 2013 to 27 April 2013); Member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (2006-2013); Alternate to the Governor of the Bank of Italy in the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (2006-2013); Vice President for Risk Management of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (from February 2003 to September 2006). He has been Visiting Professor at the European Institute of the London School of Economics (LSE) and Senior Fellow at the School of European Political Economy LUISS. He was the author of many articles and essays, including the volume “Crepe nel sistema. La frantumazione dell'economia globale” published by il Mulino in October 2018.
