Italian Defence Policy and NATO

In the run up to NATO’s Warsaw Summit in July, IAI’s Security and Defence programme has prepared a number of studies assessing present and future challenges to European and transatlantic security. In analysing various scenarios in Europe’s eastern and southern flanks, the research reflects on the need to refocus priorities and resources and enhance coordination between Alliance members. Also included is an analysis of Italian defence policy since the government’s adoption of the White Paper on International Security and Defence in April 2015.
