Academic conferences in cooperation with NATO Allied Command Transformation and Bologna University

This series of international academic conferences - sponsored by NATO's Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and organized by IAI, in partnership with Bologna University - does contribute to a virtuous dialogue between the Alliance and the academic and think tanks world.
Financing: ACT

The first conference was held on 21-22 June 2011 in Bologna on the topic Managing change: NATO’s partnerships and deterrence in a globalized world. See proceedings (ACT website).

The second conference was held on 26-27 October 2012 in Bologna. It focused on Dynamic Change. Re-thinking NATO's Capabilities, Operations, and Partnerships. Proceedings have been collected into an ad hoc ACT publication edited by IAI and Bologna University.

The third conference, held on 15-17 May 2014 in Bertinoro (Forlì), focused on Flexible Frameworks, Beyond Borders. Understanding Regional Dynamics to Enhance Cooperative Security. The papers presented and the reports of the working groups and plenary session have been published into an ad hoc volume.

The fourth conference, has taken place on 4-6 October 2015 in Bertinoro (Forlì) and dealt with the question “What Nato for what threats?”. See proceedings.

The fifth conference took place on 10-11 May 2017 in Bologna and addressed the issue of “Projecting stability in un unstable world”.
