| Library
The library was set up in 1965, the year the Institute was founded, and provides high
quality service to Italian experts and researchers in the area of international issues.
It contains more than 26,000 volumes, including current (190) and older (530) serials, with
approximately 600 new acquisitions per year. All publications are being catalogued in an
on-line data base, which currently has 22,000 entries.
The library is a part of the European
Information Network on International Relations and Area Studies (EINIRAS), an
international project for libraries and data banks which was launched by the Stiftung
Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) in 1992. The project brings together a large number
of European research centres from Western and Eastern Europe.
The IAI Library has developed the Italian part of the
European
Thesaurus on International Relations and Area Studies, available online.
